As a Construction Superintendent at SCB Construction Group, you will oversee daily project operations, ensuring smooth execution and maintaining our high-performance standards. You will lead the team to successful project completion, managing timelines, budgets, and quality while fostering a collaborative, results-driven environment. Your leadership will ensure projects exceed client expectations, reinforcing our reputation for seamless solutions.

You will focus on financial management, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and navigating complex projects to deliver successful outcomes. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will build strong client partnerships, provide exceptional service, and guide the team with clear communication.

Position Overview:

  • Project Financial Management: Oversee budgets, monitor costs, and ensure SCB’s work is delivered on time and within budget. Track expenses and report on financial goals alignment.
  • Preconstruction Services: Collaborate to evaluate projects, contribute to planning strategies, define scopes, and assist in selecting subcontractors. Develop project-specific general conditions to set clear expectations.
  • Project Start-up & Scheduling: Coordinate start-up activities and manage schedules to meet deadlines. Implement quality control and adjust schedules to address changes and delays.
  • Project Administration: Uphold safety and quality standards. Interpret contract documents, manage RFIs, and handle documentation to ensure progress. Lead project close-out for a smooth handover.
  • Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders. Address challenges proactively to exceed expectations and maintain positive partnerships.
  • Culture, Leadership & Development: Lead by example, promote a positive work culture, and mentor team members. Pursue personal and team growth through continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Must be willing to travel in the Southeast.
  • Must a have strong commitment to SAFETY.
  • Demonstrates support for SCB values.
  • Experienced level position with 4-6 years of experience as a "ground up" Superintendent is preferred.
  • OSHA 10 min with OSHA 30 preferred. Ability to achieve OSHA 30 required.
  • First Aid and CPR certification preferred. Ability to achieve and maintain First Aid and CPR required.
  • Ability to work with other team members. Must be able to mentor other less experienced employees as needed.
  • Good verbal communication skills are required. Some Spanish speaking experience would be a plus.
  • Ability to accurately read construction plans and documents including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and architectural plans.
  • Must be able to do accurate "take offs" and calculate materials including concrete, rebar, steel etc.
  • Ability to build schedules for work to be performed on site including weekly and monthly look ahead schedules for subcontractors.
  • Strong computer skills desired with ability to use construction management software and mobile devices.
  • Good record keeping skills including experience with daily logs, material deliveries, time tickets, issue tracking and punch lists.
  • Experience organizing people, tools, and equipment and plan/manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure, sometimes with incomplete information.
  • Maintains a position of integrity at all times.
  • Maintains a focus on quality and meeting or exceeding company/customer requirements and expectations.
